Cheap Data Bundles in Ghana: MTN vs Telecel vs AT Price Comparison

By Bundlif Team · Published · Updated · 9 min read

The cheapest data bundle in Ghana is the one with the lowest price per GB that you will actually finish before it expires. That single sentence explains almost everything confusing about data pricing here: the headline prices look random, the big bundles look unbeatable per GB, and the bundle people regret buying is usually the one they could not use up in time. This page puts MTN, Telecel and AT in one place, adds each network's own published prices next to Bundlif's, and shows the price per GB for every option.

Prices as of 16 October 2026. The buy page always shows the price you pay at checkout.

The short answer

  • Per GB, all three networks are cheapest at their top bundle. MTN's GH₵399 bundle gives 214GB, Telecel's GH₵400 Jumbo gives 253GB, and AT's GH₵400 BigTime gives 253.3GB. That is roughly GH₵1.58 to GH₵1.86 per GB, and nothing smaller matches it.
  • That price comes with a catch. You have to pay 399 or 400 cedis in one go, and you have to be the kind of user who will actually consume 200GB or more.
  • In the 1GB to 50GB range, the three networks are far closer than people assume. Moving between MTN, Telecel and AT at a given size changes your price per GB by a matter of pesewas, not cedis.
  • Validity is where cheap bundles quietly lose. A very low price per GB on a bundle that expires in a week is not cheap if you cannot reach the end of it.

Bundlif's prices vs the networks' own published prices

This is the comparison most price pages leave out. Each network publishes some prices itself, and those published figures are the ceiling a reseller has to beat. Here is how the two sides line up, sorted from the lowest price per GB.

Price per GB: Bundlif compared with the networks' own published prices
Where you buy Bundle Validity Price per GB
Telecel Jumbo (network) 253 GB for GH₵400 No expiry GH₵1.58
AT BigTime (network) 253.3 GB for GH₵400 No expiry GH₵1.58
MTN bundle (network) 214 GB for GH₵399 Not stated GH₵1.86
Telecel Jumbo (network) 100 GB for GH₵300 No expiry GH₵3.00
Bundlif — Telecel 45GB for GH₵163.55 30 days GH₵3.63
Bundlif — AT (AirtelTigo) 10GB for GH₵38.50 30 days GH₵3.85
Bundlif — MTN 50GB for GH₵205.00 30 days GH₵4.10
MTN Data Zone (network) 806 MB for GH₵5.99 1 day GH₵7.43
MTN published data rate about 3.6 GB for GH₵50 Not stated GH₵14.06

Network figures are the prices each network publishes itself (checked 13 October 2026). Bundlif prices as of 16 October 2026. Bundle sizes, validity and terms differ between routes, so compare like with like, and confirm the price on the network's own menu before you buy.

A few honest notes on that table, because a table like this can mislead if you read it too fast.

The 400 cedi bundles really are the cheapest data in Ghana. Telecel's 253GB Jumbo and AT's 253.3GB BigTime both work out at about GH₵1.58 per GB, and both are non-expiry. MTN's GH₵399 bundle gives 214GB, about GH₵1.86 per GB. If you can pay that amount in one go and you will use that volume, buy it directly from the network and do not overthink it.

The networks do not publish a full price list, so there is no fair way to blame them for the headline price. MTN publishes a rate card, the price per MB you pay depending on how much data you buy in one go. At the mid-size band, GH₵5 to GH₵99.99, that works out at about GH₵14 per GB. Its Data Zone one-day product works out at roughly GH₵7.43 per GB for the GH₵5.99 option. Those are MTN's own published numbers, and per GB they are several times higher than what a 30-day bundle costs.

The comparison that actually matters is this one. If you are buying less than 100GB, the sensible question is not which network is cheapest in the abstract, but which bundle gives you the lowest price per GB at the size you will finish. That is what the tables above show.

Network prices move. The public figures here were checked on 13 October 2026. Promotions, bonus data and tax changes all shift what you pay, so treat these as reference points and confirm the price on the network's own menu before you buy.

MTN data bundle prices

MTN has the widest coverage in Ghana and the largest range of bundle sizes. Its own published mid-size rate is about GH₵14 per GB, and its Data Zone top-up is about GH₵7.43 per GB for a single day. Bundlif's MTN bundles are 30-day bundles that start at 1GB, so you can buy a small amount with a much better price per GB than the one-day top-ups.

Telecel, formerly Vodafone Ghana, is strong on value in the middle of the range and has the cheapest top bundle of the three, the 253GB Jumbo at GH₵400 with no expiry. It also sells smaller bundles with much shorter validity, such as 2.53GB for GH₵10 over five days, which works out at roughly GH₵4 per GB but only for that week.

How to pick the right bundle for your usage

  • Light use. Messaging, email, maps and a bit of browsing. 1GB to 3GB is usually plenty if you are on WiFi for most of the day.
  • Regular use. Social media, music, and video in short bursts. 5GB to 10GB with 30-day validity is the comfortable middle.
  • Heavy use. Streaming, hotspot, working from a laptop, or buying for a household. Go for 15GB or more, and remember that video is what empties a bundle.
  • Very heavy use. If you genuinely use more than 100GB a month, the arithmetic points to the networks' own 400 cedi bundles rather than a reseller. That is the honest answer, and it is worth knowing.

One habit beats every price comparison: buy the size you will finish. A bundle is not cheap if a third of it expires.

Where these numbers come from

Network prices on this page are published by the networks themselves and were checked on 13 October 2026: MTN's tariff page for its per-MB rate card and Data Zone product, Telecel Ghana for its Jumbo bundles, and AT's BigTime pages for the GH₵1 to GH₵400 non-expiry range. The July 2025 changes to bundle allocations, including MTN's 214GB bundle at GH₵399, were confirmed by Ghana's National Communications Authority. Bundlif's own prices come from our live price list and carry the date shown on each table. Prices change, so treat everything here as a dated reference and check the price quoted at checkout.

Frequently asked questions

Which network has the cheapest data in Ghana?

It depends entirely on how much you buy at once. All three networks are cheapest per GB at their top bundles, around 1.6 to 1.9 cedis per GB for a 400 cedi bundle. In the small and mid sizes Bundlif sells, the three networks are much closer to each other than their headline prices suggest, so compare the price per GB column rather than the sticker price.

Is a bigger data bundle always cheaper per GB?

Almost always, and that is exactly why the cheap deal can be a trap. A large bundle only saves you money if you finish it before it expires. If you use 3GB a month, a 50GB bundle is the most expensive thing you can buy, because most of it evaporates.

Do data bundle prices in Ghana change?

Yes, and often. In July 2025 the NCA directed the networks to increase data allocations at no extra cost, which is why MTN's 399 cedi bundle now gives 214GB. Network promotions and promo codes change constantly. Every table on this page carries the date it was built, and the buy page always shows the price you will actually pay.

Can I buy data for another person's number?

Yes. Enter the recipient's MTN, Telecel or AT number at checkout and the bundle is delivered to that number. Double-check the number before you pay, because a bundle sent to the wrong number may not be recoverable.

How do I pay for a data bundle on Bundlif?

You pay with Mobile Money. Approve the prompt on your phone, and once the payment is confirmed the bundle is delivered to the number you entered.
